“Yellow Boat” shows an immense yellow and orange mass that takes up almost the whole picture, with the tops of two trees showing at the upper left against a very pale pink sky.

At the bottom, over a white and lilac surface, a tiny boat advances with a figure holding a red paddle. Its violet reflection stretches out beneath it.

The difference in size between the yellow mass and the figure gives the scene a great sense of scale, rendered with soft patches of color and almost no lines.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
