Javier Sáez Castán (Huesca, 1964) explores memory and the passage of time through drawing. In his collection Imágenes para una memoria del mundo, he draws primarily on old photographs, sometimes reproducing them as he finds them and other times altering or combining them to create new scenes. His drawings bring us closer to people and places whose stories remain unknown, revealing a world where fragments of the past intertwine with memory and imagination. Somewhere between the everyday and the unexpected, his images feel both familiar and strangely unfamiliar. They invite us to look more closely and wonder about the stories hidden within them.
