“Le Baiser” (The Kiss) shows, in the foreground, two figures in dark silhouette kissing and embracing.

Behind them, a facade with arches in red and magenta has windows lit in white, yellow and turquoise, and rows of tiny figures walk beneath the arcades. The violet-toned ground reflects the red lights.

The black of the couple contrasts with the red, pink and violet of the background, and the blurred patches of light give the whole the look of a night scene.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
