“La sieste à New York” (The Nap in New York) depicts a New York street in full daylight, with the Empire State Building in the background, under a yellow sky crossed by pink streaks.

In the foreground, a man in green trousers crosses the street with another figure on his shoulders. On the left are a green lamppost with a traffic light and a sign reading “W 19 St”, and in the background, brick buildings in pink, red and ochre. A yellow taxi appears on the right.

The colored-pencil line is highly visible and mixes yellows, pinks and blues in a very detailed scene.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
