“Jazz” by Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet is an almost abstract composition of large patches of color. On the left, a very intense yellow mass, with broad brushwork and frayed edges, takes up a good part of the picture. On the right, horizontal bands follow one another in greyish green, pink, cream, light blue and lilac.

In the center, over a strip of greys and yellows, a tiny blue figure gives the scene its scale. Below, a large orange band closes the image.

The planes of color and the visible brushstrokes build the landscape without any detail, and the contrast between the yellow and orange and the pastel tones sets the rhythm of the artwork.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
