“Flowers strike” shows a baseball pitcher in a white uniform on the mound, mid-motion, at the center of the image. Around him, red, yellow, blue and white flowers open toward the viewer as in an explosion, and at the upper left appears an enormous baseball.

The background, dark blue above and green below, fills with petals and strokes of color that radiate from the center and give the scene an effect of great speed.

The highly saturated reds, yellows and blues contrast with the dark background, and the small pitcher sits at the vanishing point of all the lines.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
