‘Adam’ by Camille de Cussac is a portrait that combines the aesthetics of tattooing with a deeply personal narrative. On his left shoulder, a portrait with the inscription ‘daddy’, and on his right shoulder, another with the word ‘mommy’, suggest an intimate connection with his parents. The tattoos, which spread across her torso and arms, form a free-form family tree, with depictions of siblings, a wedding and a grave, hinting at the loss of family members.

The necklace around her neck, with a medal depicting the image of a woman, possibly a virgin, adds a touch of spirituality and protection to the image.
