“Calme” (Calm) shows a white sailboat at the center of a turquoise sea, with a pale wake behind it. The light blue sky is crossed by broad white brushstrokes of clouds.

The water shifts from luminous turquoise at the bottom to bands of darker blue and an almost white tone toward the horizon.

The palette is limited to blues and whites, and the small sailboat is the only element in the scene.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
