“La femme au livre” (The Woman with the Book) shows a pink figure, lying down and holding a white book, surrounded by large brushstrokes in yellow, orange, green and brown that form foliage.

At the center there is a patch of intense blue, and over the violet background small pink, white and red marks are scattered, like flowers.

The warm palette of the foliage contrasts with the blue and violet of the background, and the light figure stands out against them.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
