“Baignade” (Swim) shows a light-toned figure swimming beneath the surface, arms outstretched, in water of blue and violet brushstrokes.

At the top, a pink band marks the surface, and from there translucent shafts of light blue light fall, crossing the water diagonally. The long, horizontal brushstrokes suggest the movement of the water.

The pink above and the violet-tinged blue of the depths form a continuous gradation, and the figure, almost white in silhouette, is the only thing that breaks that texture.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
