“À ciel ouvert” (Under the Open Sky) shows a figure sunbathing and reading while lying on a dark shore, with a bicycle leaning on the right, under a sky of diagonal brushstrokes in pink, orange and violet.

On both sides, masses of trees in blue, violet and green close in the landscape, and a lower strip in lilac and pink reflects the tones of the sky.

The sky takes up more than half of the image. The very small figure sits facing those broad, directional brushstrokes.

Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet depicts colorful atmospheres and ethereal backgrounds, blending patches of color. His work moves between the introspective, in soft tones, and the festive, in bright colors, always with a fluid, spontaneous expression.
