‘Plaza Colon’ by Jacobo Pérez-Enciso portrays with simplicity and elegance one of Madrid's most emblematic squares. At the centre of the scene is Jaume Plensa's sculpture of Julia, whose serene profile dominates the square. Below her, the Fernán Gómez Theatre can be seen, and in the background, other iconic buildings such as the Gran Meliá Fénix, sketched with energetic but also delicate and confident lines, which add dynamism.

The palette of soft colours, with touches of red and blue, brings warmth and balance to the work. The figures of the passers-by, depicted in simple strokes, add movement and life to the scene without detracting from the monuments and architecture.
